Poland and Lithuania expressed their readiness to continue to supply Ukraine with military equipment and weapons, as well as to deepen cooperation in the development of military-industrial potential.

This is stated in a joint statement of the three countries, published on the website of the Ukrainian government.

“We reaffirmed the continued importance of trilateral cooperation in areas such as military and defense cooperation using the potential of NATO and the EU, where the combined military units of the brigade level of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine (LitPolUkrBrig), named after Hetman Great Konstantin Ostrozhsky, play an integral role,” — the message says.

The statement also highlights the importance of further strengthening military support for Ukraine.

“We expressed our commitment, together with partners, to raise the issue of ensuring the supply of defense equipment to Ukraine, continue to supply Ukraine with military equipment and weapons, and deepen cooperation in the development of our military-industrial potential,” the statement says.

Belgium, in turn, promised to supply Kyiv with ten ECA Robotics underwater drones, which can identify any underwater threats, from mines to spyware.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom Ludivine Dedonder in an interview with the newspaper Le Soir.

It is specified that these samples will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of May in several stages.

Brussels promised to send two mobile laboratories to Kyiv to control the level of radiation and use chemical or bacteriological weapons.

“Our assistance is effective and complements the assistance of other countries.

It corresponds to what Ukraine is asking us for.

In addition, the equipment we send is in working order.

It is not the junk that we get rid of in this way.

Assistance to Ukraine is a priority for us,” Dedonder said.

The minister also announced that the Belgian authorities will provide military training for the Ukrainian army.

NATO supplies

Recall that, in addition to Belgium, Poland and Lithuania, other NATO countries are also actively supplying weapons to Kyiv.

However, the record here was set by the United States, which, since the Joe Biden administration came to power, has allocated $19.7 billion in defense assistance to Ukraine.

Washington's latest $400 million arms tranche included ammunition for NASAMS air defense systems and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as HARM anti-radar missiles.

In addition, 150 large-caliber machine guns with thermal imaging sights to counter drones were included here.

Another major donor of military aid to the Kyiv regime is the United Kingdom.

As Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, the United Kingdom spent £2.3 billion for these purposes over the year. At the same time, he promised that London would continue to support Ukraine, announcing a large-scale aid package, which mainly consists of air defense equipment.

As specified in the prime minister's office, we are talking about 125 anti-aircraft guns, as well as special equipment to strengthen air defense and fight drones, for which Britain will allocate £50 million (at least $60 million).

Subsequently, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence that the North Atlantic Alliance needs to expand the supply of weapons to Ukraine in order to establish an "acceptable peace" with Russia.

According to him, suitable peace conditions for Ukraine depend only on success "on the battlefield."

However, the next day, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Ukrainian MP Yegor Chernev, said that the bloc felt the depletion of weapons and ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, Brussels is conducting an audit and audit of available funds in order to "find the balance in warehouses."

As Chernev noted, the alliance allowed its members not to follow the mandatory standards for the availability of weapons and ammunition in order to transfer part of the emergency supplies to Ukraine.

At the same time, much of what is supplied to Kyiv fails, The New York Times reports, citing sources among US and Ukrainian officials.

“Ukrainian forces fire thousands of explosive rounds daily at Russian targets using high-tech weapons provided by the United States and its allies.

But after months of overuse, these weapons wear out, are damaged or destroyed in combat, and dozens of units are removed from the battlefield for repairs.

The newspaper also reported that of the approximately 350 Western-made howitzers handed over to Kyiv, "one-third are permanently disabled."

"A drop in the desert"

As experts explained, the high-precision strikes of the Russian Armed Forces on the military infrastructure in Ukraine and the destruction of Western equipment by the Russian military led to the fact that Western aid "dissolves very quickly."

“This is a drop in the desert.

Arms deliveries to Kyiv simply increase the number of deaths, some significant advances on the battlefield cannot be achieved due to this.

Moreover, NATO countries have practically exhausted their resources and are starting to pump out weapons and military equipment not from warehouses, but from military storage, even from military units, ”said Alexei Podberezkin, director of the Center for Military-Political Research, in an interview with RT.

A similar opinion is shared by military expert Yuri Knutov.

According to him, even now the tranches of Western weapons have been significantly reduced.

“Supplies are limited.

They do not oversaturate the Ukrainian army with significant amounts of ammunition and offensive equipment.

Everything is being done to ensure that the Ukrainian army simply participates in the conflict as long as possible, ”the analyst said in a commentary to RT.

Knutov also believes that today the arsenals of European countries are already fairly empty.

“The only country that is ready to supply large quantities of weapons to Ukraine is the United States, whose military-industrial complex is much more powerful than the European one: replenishing the arsenal of the American army can take three to five years,” the expert said.

At the same time, he drew special attention to Belgium's plans to send two mobile laboratories to Ukraine to monitor radiation levels and use chemical or bacteriological weapons.

“This is due to the fact that Kyiv, most likely, will soon try to portray that Russia is allegedly going to use tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine, although it is the Ukrainian side that is preparing the provocation.

Let me remind you that even before the special operation, there was talk about the creation of a “dirty bomb” by Kyiv.

For the provocation of the Ukrainian regime to take place, it needs mobile laboratories to determine the level of radiation, the nature of the infection, its intensity, ”the analyst noted.

In turn, Aleksey Podberyozkin links the upcoming deliveries of mobile laboratories to control the level of radiation with the possible intentions of Kyiv to organize the undermining of nuclear waste storage facilities.

“It will be really dangerous, since a huge amount of nuclear waste has accumulated on the territory of Ukraine.

If Kyiv goes for this, then not only a significant part of Ukraine, but also the European part of Russia, all of Eastern Europe can be infected, ”the expert argues.

Podberezkin also sees Belgian plans to supply Ukraine with underwater drones as a worrying trend.

“All this can lead to an even greater aggravation of the situation,” the analyst believes.

At the same time, from his point of view, the total volume of deliveries of NATO military assistance to Kyiv will decrease over time.

“The American military industry can produce up to about 100 HIMARS MLRS per year, which is very small, especially considering that the Russian Armed Forces are systematically destroying such weapons.

Under such conditions, the United States will not have time to increase production to the level that Kyiv needs.

Therefore, in my opinion, this story with mass deliveries will end soon.

Western tranches will only prolong the agony of the Kyiv regime,” Podberyozkin concluded.
