According to the official quoted by TASS, the United States "is ready to provide targeted sanctions relief, depending on concrete steps to alleviate the suffering of Venezuelans and bring them closer to the restoration of democracy through free and fair elections."

He noted that the decision to allow Chevron to produce oil in Venezuela is aimed precisely at this.

Earlier, the US authorities gave Chevron permission to extract oil and produce petroleum products in Venezuela, as well as supply them to the US, according to the US Treasury Department.

Prior to this, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said he was ready to resume dialogue with the opposition through the mediation of Norway and Mexico.
