The Chengziya site located in Zhangqiu, Jinan, Shandong is a famous place where Longshan culture was discovered and named.

The first generation of Chinese archaeologists excavated Chengziya twice, creating many firsts in the history of Chinese archaeology: it is the first prehistoric cultural site independently discovered and excavated by a Chinese national academic institution; Archaeological excavation carried out in eastern China; the first archaeological stratigraphic map was drawn; the first black pottery cultural remains discovered and excavated in China, and the first collection of field archaeological reports in China was published.

The Chengziya site has also won the honor of "Chinese Archaeological Holy Land".
