The police's theory is that the man, aged 45, has been hit, but it is not yet clear how the accident happened.
- This is a very, very serious accident, said police spokesperson Dennis Johansson Strömberg on Thursday afternoon.
According to him, passers-by on Görsingeholmsvägen discovered a badly injured man next to the road and alerted the police and emergency services around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
When they arrive at the scene, the man is uncontactable and is immediately transported to hospital.
Unclear what has happened
According to Johansson Strömberg, the police are working on the hypothesis that the person has been traveling on a bicycle and has been hit.
However, there was no motorist or driver of another vehicle left at the scene and the course of events itself is unclear.
The incident is being investigated as causing another person's death and contagion from a traffic accident.
There are no suspects at this time.
Next of kin have been notified.
