The FSB of Russia announced the prevention of a sabotage and terrorist act on the South Stream gas pipeline, through which energy supplies are delivered to Turkey and Europe.

According to the Center for Public Relations of the FSB, the terrorist attack was prepared by the Ukrainian special services.

According to the agency, Russian citizens involved in the preparation and resource support of the attack were detained.

Four magnetic mines, 4 kg of plastite, delayed action fuses, as well as cash in the amount of 593 thousand rubles were confiscated from them.

Also found were means of communication containing correspondence and negotiations with curators from among the employees of the Ukrainian special services, instructions for assembling explosive devices and transferring money, as well as the coordinates of the explosion site in the Volgograd region.

The Investigation Department of the FSB of Russia opened a criminal case under articles 30, 205 (preparation for a terrorist act), 205.4 (“Organization of a terrorist community and participation in it”), 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying explosives or explosive devices").

A day earlier, the FSB announced the prevention of a terrorist attack on military and energy facilities in the Voronezh region.

According to the agency, the terrorist attack was planned by members of a conspiratorial cell of supporters of the Ukrainian nationalist ideology.

It is noted that the security forces caught the attackers trying to extract the contents of the cache prepared by them.

The persons preparing the attack offered armed resistance to the FSB officers and were destroyed by return fire.

As a result, a citizen of Ukraine, born in 1978, recruited by the SBU, was detained.

Three high-explosive explosive devices were confiscated from him, as well as instructions for their use and a diagram of the location of power lines in one of the regions of Crimea.

The FSB cites the point of view of energy specialists, according to which, in the event of damage to the power lines marked by the attacker, more than 5 thousand consumers would be left without electricity, including objects of the socially significant infrastructure of the peninsula.

In September, the FSB announced that it had prevented an attempt by Ukrainian special services to stage a sabotage and terrorist act at an oil and gas facility that supplies energy to Turkey and Europe.

The perpetrator of this crime turned out to be a Russian citizen born in 1978, recruited on the territory of Ukraine by SBU officers.

The FSB detained him while seizing two improvised high-yield cumulative explosive devices from a cache.

He also found means of communication containing correspondence and negotiations with the curator from the SBU, instructions for assembling an explosive device and transferring funds, as well as the coordinates of the place where the explosion took place.

Also detained were four more accomplices of the Ukrainian special services from among Russian citizens, who provided the preparation of the sabotage.

In addition, in August, the FSB announced the prevention of another terrorist attack at an oil and gas facility located in the Volgograd region.

According to the department, the attack was prepared by members of a right-wing radical group.

They offered armed resistance and were neutralized during the arrest while trying to blow up the oil pipeline.

At the scene of the crime, FSB officers seized a high-powered improvised explosive device, as well as two traumatic pistols converted to fire live ammunition.
