At least one Russian missile fell on a maternity ward in the small town of Vilyansk, 15,000 inhabitants, a locality in the Zaporijjia region, close to the front line.
The maternity ward was relatively depopulated, but a baby born in 2022 was killed in the bombardment, while her mother and a doctor were pulled from the rubble.
Rescuers are still looking for victims.
Terror and Murder
Further north, the city of Kupiansk, in the Kharkiv region, liberated by the Ukrainian army in September, was also bombarded.
A clinic and an apartment building were hit by the rockets and two 60-year-olds perished in the strike.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia decided to accomplish through terror and murder what it could not accomplish in nine months.
