During the past year, high school students from all over Sweden have competed with their best space experiments.

The School of Space Research named the winning entry awarded a smaller area aboard the rocket that was launched from Esrange in Kiruna on Tuesday.

SSC: "Talented youth"

It is the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) that offers the space.

- You really shouldn't underestimate what these talented young people can achieve with the right tools.

Here they get the chance to work practically while we attract more people to our exciting industry, says Stefan Krämer, project manager SSC.

Three 17-year-olds in the winning team

This year's winner is a team consisting of 17-year-old Anita Ali Asgar (Blackeberg's high school in Stockholm) and peers Mabelle Hanna (Ålleberg's high school in Falköping) and Theodor Lennartsson (Katedralskolan in Lund).

The experiment involves measuring cosmic radiation using a self-constructed scintillation counter.

- I dream of working in the space industry, and that's why it's so cool to be able to send an experiment into space already in high school, says Anita Ali Asgar, who has long also dreamed of visiting Esrange during a launch.
