“I am pleased to announce that the main negotiators of Serbia and Kosovo, mediated by the EU, have agreed on measures to avoid further escalation and fully concentrate on proposals to normalize relations,” Borrell said on Twitter.

He noted that Serbia agrees to stop issuing plates with Kosovo city codes, while Kosovo undertakes not to try to forcibly re-register vehicles with Serbian plates.

As Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted, the situation in unrecognized Kosovo is on the verge of clashes, and the authorities of the self-proclaimed republic decided to send special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the north of the region inhabited by Serbs.

At the same time, on November 22, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti postponed the introduction of fines for Serbian license plates for 48 hours at the request of US Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hoveni.
