A victim due to the severe bad weather that hit the peninsula yesterday with roads invaded by water and mud throughout Italy and streams that have overflowed.
A dead man in the Neapolitan,
Campania region
, whose body was found today.
Ugo Manganaro, a 34-year-old man, a fisherman by profession,
was probably struck by lightning
while he was walking near the sea during the storm.
The body was
seized by the Naples prosecutor pending the autopsy
.
It may have been
the umbrella or some nearby light pole that attracted the lightning
.
There were no burn marks on the body.
Another hypothesis that the investigators are working on would be linked to the
malfunction of an electrical substation
located not far from the place where the body was found, perhaps damaged by bad weather and from which a lethal discharge could have been generated for the 34-year-old.
The body found by the
Carabinieri in Marina di Seiano, near the beach
: a place usually frequented by the fisherman, who had also reached the area yesterday evening - perhaps for work reasons - despite the storm that hit Campania with the arrival of the cyclone Poppea.
