Turkey has announced it has launched a military offensive against Kurdish militias in Syria and Iraq, calling it Operation "Sword Claw".
Ankara's Ministry of Defense made it known.
The Turkish Defense Ministry had tweeted a photo of a plane taking off for a night operation in the night, alongside the words "The time of reckoning has come".
Although the ministry had not yet provided information on the mission's target, Kurdish-led forces in northern Syria and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (ONDUS) had both said that Turkey carried out air strikes in northern Syria provoking the death of at least 12 people.
