Here Fifa has set up the Fan Festival: a large theme park for all the fans who have come here to follow the World Cup.
It is an area that can accommodate up to 40,000 people.
It was inaugurated today, at 7 pm local time (when it was 5 pm in Italy).
The opening was pyrotechnic, with a giant screen projecting plays of light and fireworks that lit up this area of Doha.
We took a walk in the park.
And, contrary to the past few days, this time the impression is of really seeing fans from different parts of the world.
Numerous South and Central Americans: Argentines, Brazilians, Mexicans.
In the crowd we noticed one of them.
He was strolling around the Fan Festival, with his blue beard and supported by a stick.
He arrived here last Monday.
He is 74 years old.
And it is in his fifth world championship.
All for his national team: Mexico.
Even if that blue beard is dedicated to his club, whose shirt he proudly wears: Atlante, from Mexico City.

In the fan zone there is also the maxi store to buy the national team shirts and all kinds of gadgets for Qatar 2022.
For football fans and enthusiasts, of course, a football field could not be missing where they compete in tight 3-3 matches: and it doesn't matter if you wear the Mexico shirt and celebrate the goal with Cristiano Ronaldo's "siuuu".

But in the end there are those who celebrate not for a goal from their national team, but because the sale of beer is allowed here in the fan zone.
And then there are those who raise a reproduction of the World Cup to the sky and those who instead a glass of cold beer.
Even if - to be honest - it is a costly exultation: a half-litre glass costs 50 Riyals (the Qatari currency), or about 14 euros.
