The former leader of the League, Umberto Bossi, was hospitalized after an illness that struck him at his home in Gemonio, in the province of Varese.

The 118 personnel arrived on the spot and transported him to the Circolo di Varese hospital with an ambulance and a medical car.

According to initial information, Bossi was hospitalized in yellow code and his conditions would not cause particular concern.

In the hospital, accompanied by his son Renzo and his wife Manuela Marrone, he will undergo tests and in the next few hours the family and the health management should announce the general clinical picture.

The MEP Angelo Ciocca is also in the hospital who had comforting words: "Bossi has always shown himself to be a lion both in difficult moments in politics and in those of life and health".

Only a few days ago Bossi, elected to the Chamber in September after being excluded from the first count, had announced his first public outing at Castello di Giovenzano (Pavia) for the end of November, on the 27th, at the head of the new autonomist formation he baptized "Northern Committee".
