Took nitrous oxide on the night shift at the emergency room in Skellefteå - now the employees are being warned

- It's terrible, you knock out an entire emergency department.

It is an incredible patient risk, said an anonymous informant to SVT Nyheter Västerbotten.

Region Västerbotten has investigated the incident since it became known that night staff had taken nitrous oxide during working hours.

- The investigation has confirmed that four people were involved.

No patient has been exposed to risk, says Camilla Andersson, area manager for Skellefteå hospital.

It is now clear what consequences the event will have for those involved.

- We have compared the incident with similar incidents in both our own and other regions.

We will give written warnings to three of them and a corrective call to one person.

Affected persons and unions are notified.
