A 64-year-old woman died in a house fire in Coussac-Bonneval (Haute-Vienne).
The fire broke out on Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. but the lifeless body of the sexagenarian was not found until the next morning, in the rubble of the house;
reports France 3 New Aquitaine.
The firefighters discovered it during the clearing phase.
“He is a person who had health problems, she was on respiratory assistance.
There was an oxygen bottle next to her,” the mayor of Coussac-Bonneval told the regional channel.
The husband of the deceased and the only doctor in the town, intoxicated by the fumes, was transported in relative emergency to a hospital.
The research section of the Haute-Vienne gendarmerie has opened an investigation.
