Yesterday, Israel and Turkey agreed to resume relations again, according to what was announced by the office of Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu.

Yesterday's statement from Netanyahu's office indicated that relations could continue to improve under Netanyahu's rule.

Netanyahu's office announced that the two leaders pledged to cooperate and communicate again, during a phone call between them yesterday.

Netanyahu is seeking to form a government after winning national elections earlier this month.

"The two leaders agreed to work together to usher in a new era of relations between Turkey and Israel," the statement issued by Netanyahu's office added.

The stalemate prevailed in relations between the two countries during the previous term of Netanyahu, who will return to power soon.

Relations have already improved under outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid, who met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York in September, the first meeting between the two countries' leaders in 14 years.
