On the morning of July 27, a man in Kiruna called 112 and stated that he had been beaten with a stick.
"I'm bleeding like hell," he told the emergency operator at SOS.
When the police arrive at the man's apartment, he tells them that he has been beaten with a large hammer.
The perpetrators have also carved "LOL" into his chest, which is short for laughing out loud.
Two men, aged 35 and 25, were arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of assault.
They are later arrested by prosecutors.
Denies crime
The two men are now charged on suspicion of extremely serious assault.
According to the indictment, the men must have caused extreme suffering to the plaintiff and shown extreme recklessness by attacking him unprovoked with a deadly force.
Both men deny wrongdoing.
