Regarding the situation in Ukraine, the United Nations General Assembly voted on a resolution calling on Russia to compensate for the damage caused by the military aggression, and was adopted with the support of 94 countries.

On the other hand, 73 countries abstained from voting, highlighting the division and conflict in the international community over the situation in Ukraine.

The draft resolution was submitted by the Netherlands and others, stating that Russia must bear responsibility for violations of international law in its military invasion of Ukraine, and seeks compensation for damages caused by illegal acts.

During the debate at the special emergency session of the UN General Assembly held on the 14th, Ukrainian Ambassador to the UN Kislitsa said, "It's time to hold Russia accountable," and called for support, while Russian Ambassador to the UN Nebenzya countered that "Western countries are trying to prolong and exacerbate the conflict."



After that, a vote was held, and the resolution was adopted with the support of 94 countries, including Japan and Western countries, but on the other hand, 14 countries such as Russia and China opposed it, and 73 countries such as India and Brazil abstained. .



In October, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning Russia's unilateral annexation of four provinces of Ukraine with the support of 143 countries. Including the countries that abstained or did not vote, the number of countries reached 99, highlighting the division and conflict in the international community over the situation in Ukraine.
