- We believe that in the last few days, significantly more applications will come in, says Thomas Ekelius, head of administration for the culture and leisure administration at Växjö municipality.

Different big need

At the beginning of October this year, Växjö municipality decided to give financial support to associations of SEK 10 million.

Around 200 associations in the municipality have the opportunity to apply for the support, but the needs of the associations look different.

- For example, associations that work with ice and cold have been hit very hard.

Then we have other associations such as village associations where they may have a room with slightly poorly insulated windows.

Then it can be a matter of thousands of Swedish kroner, while for others it can be about hundreds of thousands of kroner, says Thomas Ekelius.

In the clip, you can hear about the criteria for receiving the support.

Lower electricity costs now

In August this year, it was warned that record expensive electricity is expected this winter.

At the same time, electricity prices have been held down during the autumn by a mild climate and a lot of wind.

How big would you say the need for electricity support is today?

- I think there are a lot of people who have been hit hard in recent months.

Since just now the month of November, I don't think there are that many people who are doing so badly.

I'm sure this support is very welcome and much needed.

The idea is that the support should be enough for the increased energy costs that the associations received throughout the last year.
