During Saturday, Siv Hedlund and her neighbor were out on their usual morning walk with the dog Divina when they passed two large dogs.
Siv says that the dogs were completely calm until she had passed, then one of the dogs attacked Divina.
- I got my fingers between the dog's teeth, but it was not possible to save Divina.
She was breathing a little loosely when I held her in my arms, says Siv Hedlund.
The police confirm that a dog has been bitten to death by another dog on Saturday.
- There we have drawn up a report regarding vandalism, that is the crime itself, says Matilda Isaksson, RLC commander at Region Mitt.
Hoped to have her for many years
Siv Hedlund had hoped to have Divina until she was over 80 years old.
- She was a small dog that we would have for many years.
I've gotten rid of dogs before, but then they've been allowed to fall asleep peacefully, this was so brutal.
That image will haunt me for the rest of my life.
According to the police, the dog that attacked Divina is still with the owners pending examination by the County Administrative Board.
