After the Vitale card and professional training account (CPF) scams, here are now those that take advantage of the implementation of ZFEs (low emission zones), and the Crit'Air vignettes that accompany them.

In the Toulouse conurbation, the ZFE gradually came into force in March 2022 and scams on Crit'air vignettes were quick to flourish.

"Several victims from Haute-Garonne draw our attention to a scam technique, phishing with the Crit'Air sticker", explains the Haute-Garonne gendarmerie on its Facebook page.

Only one official site

By using phishing, scammers impersonate a company or government agency to trick victims into providing confidential information.

The victim receives a message (SMS or email) alerting him to the fact that he does not have the sticker, and that he must comply under penalty of fine.

By clicking on the link provided in the message, the victim ends up on a fraudulent site.

The gendarmes point out that there is only one government site devoted to these Critair vignettes: www.certificat-air.gouv.fr and that you have to pay €3.70 per vehicle to equip yourself.
