Saqr Ghobash visits the pavilions of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt at "Cup 27"

Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, and the accompanying parliamentary delegation visited the pavilions of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt in the exhibition area and the side events that are held on the sidelines of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP27”, which is being held in Sharm El Sheikh, during the participation of the delegation of the National Council Federal Parliament in parliamentary meetings organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in partnership with the Egyptian House of Representatives.

During their tour of the pavilions, Saqr Ghobash and the delegation of the Federal National Council were briefed on models of projects and the latest innovations and products in the field of facing the effects of climate change and promoting sustainable climate action, which aims to raise awareness of the issue of climate change.

He stressed that the issue of climate change is an important priority in the UAE, especially since climate action is one of the main pillars of the country's economic, environment and development strategies and plans, and within its vision for the next fifty years. Climate, where it has taken many important steps, plans, strategies, initiatives and projects to push the transition towards renewable energy and confront the phenomenon of climate change, and the country has become a global platform for climate action.

Saqr Ghobash visited the UAE pavilion, which extends over an area of ​​more than 1,000 meters, and was briefed on the most important topics, including decarbonization, youth and future generations, adaptation and agriculture, water and gender, energy and work for climate empowerment, and biodiversity.



He was also briefed on a series of projects implemented by the UAE, which highlight the country's commitment to a low-carbon and diversified economy and provide sustainable economic and social development opportunities.

He also visited the pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and was briefed by the participating parties in the exhibition, which is held under the slogan "From Ambition to Action", the pioneering efforts of Saudi Arabia in the development of the circular carbon economy, afforestation and the protection of the natural environment in the Kingdom.

He was briefed on the initiatives currently implemented in various parts of Saudi Arabia, starting with the establishment of the largest clean hydrogen plant in the world in NEOM, to the successful resettlement programs of the most prominent endangered wildlife in the country, which seeks to achieve the overall goals of the “Green Saudi Initiative” and ensure Creating positive change in the long term.

 He also visited the Egyptian pavilion, and was briefed on the art pieces displayed in the pavilion and their relationship to climate issues and their expression of Egyptian culture, in addition to the most prominent projects implemented by Egypt in the field of climate change from various agencies and institutions that present a number of initiatives and projects in the fields of clean energy and environmental work.
