Bonomi: "Tax cuts can be made, 4-5% of public spending can be changed"

The president of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi spoke about it in Mogliano Veneto (Treviso), on the sidelines of the Small Industry Forum.

"I believe that a country that spends over one trillion a year in public spending - Bonomi also noted - can reconfigure 4-5% of this expenditure, corresponding to 50-60 billion, and have the resources to carry out this intervention".

"The urgencies that we have pointed out to the government today are to devote all resources to expensive bills, to have a great eye on public finance, and to make important interventions on the subject of work, the first of which is the cut to the tax wedge", he said. explained Bonomi.  

The president of Confindustria, on the other hand, is not at all convinced of the provision on fringe benefits of up to 3,000 euros that companies will be able to provide.

"The number of workers who could take advantage of it is very small, the first counts speak of about 17%. And then - continued Bonom - it does not convince us because the ball is moved on the field of companies, some will be able to do it but other companies they will not have the budget and finances space to do so. The solution of responsibility must be on the part of the government: the cut in taxes on labor. "

On the situation of the Italian industry, he then observes: "We have a country that has shown itself to be strong, structurally strong, we have overcome a pandemic. We have overcome the crisis of raw materials. The energy crisis, the greatest drought in the last seventy years and in any case last year we set the export record, it is clear that Italian manufacturing is strong. If this government has the ability to put together the measures necessary to bypass 2023, which will be a complicated year, I believe that we will restart very strongly ".
