WFP Director Beasley Says World Needs Russian Grain and Fertilizers

He noted that all countries should cooperate on the issue of the grain deal. 

“Whether you love Russia or not, the world needs Russian grain and fertilizer,” Beasley said. 

According to him, otherwise "the whole world will have to pay for it."

He also said that the UN is making every effort to extend the grain deal.

Earlier, the representative of the office of the UN Secretary General, Stephanie Tremblay, said that UN Deputy Secretary General Martin Griffiths and Secretary General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Greenspan will hold a meeting with Russian representatives in Geneva on November 11 to discuss the situation with the extension of the grain deal.
