President Yun Seok-yeol is on his first trip to Southeast Asia after taking office today (11th).

The tour, which will be held for 4 nights and 6 days from today, will be filled with participation in the ASEAN Summit in Cambodia, the G20 Summit in Indonesia, the Korea-US-Japan summit, and the Korea-US summit.

President Yoon departs through Seongnam Seoul Airport this morning and arrives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, his first visit country, to attend the ASEAN-Korea Summit.

At this meeting, he will present the Korean version of the Indo-Pacific strategy of freedom, peace and prosperity, and the “Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative,” a new policy toward ASEAN.

On the second day, the 12th, the ASEAN+3 Summit will be held with ASEAN member states and the three countries of Korea, China and Japan.

It is the first time in two years and 10 months since the Korea, China, and Japan summit in China in December 2019 that the leaders of Korea, China, and Japan are gathering together.

President Yun, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will attend.

On the 13th, the East Asia Summit (EAS) and the Korea-U.S.-Japan summit are scheduled.

This is the second Korea-U.S.-Japan summit to be held in five months since Madrid, Spain, at the end of June.

It is expected that the focus will be on measures to strengthen cooperation in response to North Korean provocations, such as North Korea's nuclear weapons and missiles.

The President's Office said that a South Korea-US summit would also be held during this trip, but the detailed schedule and location have not yet been disclosed.

It is the first formal meeting with President Joe Biden in six months since the May 21st meeting in Seoul.

The presidential office is not confirming whether the Korea-Japan summit will be held, which has been raised mainly by the Japanese media.

In the midst of this, Kyodo News reported on the 10th that the plan for holding the Korea-Japan summit is being coordinated before and after the Korea-US-Japan summit in Phnom Penh.

President Yoon will travel to Bali, Indonesia on the night of the 13th, and downgrade the B20 Summit and G20 schedules with representatives of G20 member economies and companies for two days from the 14th.

The 14th will be filled with economic diplomacy schedules such as the B20 keynote and the Korea-Indonesia business roundtable.

At the G20 Summit on the 15th, I will give a speech at the Food, Energy, Security and Health Session.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who has recently been re-elected for three consecutive terms, is also scheduled to attend the G20, so it is noteworthy whether President Yun and Xi will meet for the first time.

President Yun, as well as the heads of North Korea-related countries such as the United States, China, and Japan, are all scheduled to gather in Bali, so a fierce diplomatic battle with North Korea is expected to unfold.

The president's office has a plan to respond immediately in the event of the 7th North Korean nuclear test.

President Yoon will also hold bilateral summits with ASEAN member states such as Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Kun-hee Kim will also accompany her to attend the official spouse program provided by the organizer.

The G20 summit will be held from the 15th to the 17th, but President Yoon only attends the meeting on the 15th and goes home late that day.
