In the clip above, you hear from some customers in Habo about how the increased food prices affect the way they shop.

The price of dairy products and cheese has increased the most on an annual basis, 20.7 and 22.7 percent respectively.

This shows statistics that the Matpriskollen has produced.

In October alone, the increase for dairy products was 1.8 percent.

Dairy products and cheese are goods that households buy a lot of, and the sharp increase in the price of these products affects the household's finances.

Do you eat less dairy products and cheese compared to before?

- Yes, that's how it is, says Anton Sjöholm.

Some items drop in price

Although food prices generally continued to rise in the month of October, there are some bright spots in the price darkness.

- In recent months, we have seen a certain price reduction when it comes to chicken at all the major suppliers, says Ulf Mazur, CEO and founder of Matpriskollen to SVT Jönköping.

He expects chicken prices to continue downward.

These products increased rapidly when the war in Ukraine broke out, the reason being that the prices of fodder increased rapidly then.

Now you can see that feed prices are decreasing for the chicken breeders.

Customers less loyal to the same store

When it comes to the grocery trade in general, prices there have increased by 12.5 percent so far this year, compared to last year.

The category includes, among other things, pet products, body care and some pet products.

- Body care products such as soap and shampoo have not been raised very much.

How have the increased prices affected consumers?

- We see that consumers are now increasingly switching stores to shop in. They are guided by campaigns and extra prices, says Ulf Mazur.
