Russia bans military cooperation with 74 foreign companies

The Kremlin announced Tuesday that Russia has imposed a ban on military cooperation with 74 foreign companies in response to Western sanctions.

The list includes companies from "hostile" countries, including 20 companies from Germany.

The list also includes companies from Bulgaria, Britain, Canada, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Montenegro, Poland and the United States.

In the wake of Russia's war on Ukraine on February 24, many countries as well as the European Union imposed wide-ranging sanctions on Moscow.

Russia regularly responds with countermeasures.

Last May, for example, Moscow banned trade relations with about 30 companies, most of which were former branches of the Russian energy company Gazprom.
