Similar to the case of the murder of the student Naira Ashraf, known as the "Girl of Mansoura", the city of Zagazig in the Sharkia Governorate, northern Egypt, witnessed on August 8 last year, the student Islam Muhammad killing his colleague at the Faculty of Information at Al-Shorouk Academy Salma Bahgat, after several stab wounds to her that killed her.

The medical report prepared at the Abbasiya Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases confirmed that the accused neither at the present time nor at the time of the accusation had any symptoms indicating psychological and mental disorder, and this makes him responsible for the accusation against him.

Last June, the city of Mansoura, Dakahlia Governorate, northern Egypt, witnessed a similar incident, specifically in front of the Mansoura University building, when a young man stabbed his fellow student, Naira Ashraf, all over her body, then slaughtered her in front of passers-by, in retaliation for her because she refused his love, as he said in Investigations before the official authorities.

The video clip that spread at the time and terrified the Egyptians, in which the young student Mohamed Adel appeared outside the walls of Mansoura University, stabbing and slaying his colleague Naira Ashraf to death, after she refused to marry him.

The Mansoura Criminal Court, which sentenced Adel to death by hanging, called on the Egyptian parliament to amend the law regulating the death penalty to allow the execution of execution procedures to be broadcast live.

After the killings of Naira and Salma, Egypt witnessed two similar incidents last September and October.

On the fourth of last September, a young man named Ahmed Fathi killed a girl named Amani Abdel Karim, by shooting her in the street in the village of Toukh Tanbesha, in the Menoufia Governorate, north of Cairo, for refusing to marry him. He ran away and then committed suicide the next day.
