North Korea announced that it had conducted military operations against South Korea from the 2nd to the 5th in response to the 'Vigilant Storm' joint air exercise between South Korea and the United States.

The North Korean Army's General Staff asserts that "all counter-military operations successfully achieved their planned objectives" and that the North Korean military's "operation capability was evaluated satisfactorily".

Commenting on military measures taken so far, North Korea claimed that on the 2nd, it fired two strategic cruise missiles at a range of 590.5km from North Hamgyong Province into waters around 80km in front of Ulsan.

North Korea claimed that the launch was carried out in retaliation for South Korea's fire in response to North Korea's high seas, claiming that it had dropped a North Korean missile in the region south of the NLL.

North Korea claimed that through the operation from the 2nd to the 5th, it had increased confidence in the ROK and US air force's 'superiority', fully confirmed its military readiness posture and capability, and further solidified its determination to take an absolute response.

The North Korean Army's General Staff asserts that it "declares once again that we will respond to the enemy's anti-North Korean war exercises with sustained, resolute and overwhelming practical military measures."
