After the death of a cyclist in Berlin, whose rescue was allegedly slowed by a blockade of climate activists, the Berlin government says that "these forms of protests also involve dangers for others and for this we condemn them".

A government spokesman said this today in Berlin.

The spokesman, however, stressed that "we do not make any connection with the concrete case, because it is not our task to judge it as a government".

The case will still be investigated by the competent authorities.

The German government shares the defense of the climate but de facto condemns the protests outside the law.
