Elisabeth Borne announced Thursday, November 3, "

a fund for sustainable food aid

This money, Elisabeth Borne wants associations and food banks to use it to buy more "

quality products

", more "

fresh products

".

This fund will also have to finance local initiatives in short circuit.

Prefects involved

Calls for projects will be launched, announced the head of government and the prefects will be involved and may decide to distribute food vouchers.

But for the time being, this device – very complicated to set up – will not be deployed at the national level.

The food check is not included in the 2023 budget.

Insufficient

This fund, endowed with 60 million euros next year, may in any case be insufficient.

On the national public radio

France Info

, Thursday morning, the national secretary of the French Secours populaire estimated the needs of food aid associations at 200 million euros.

With inflation of 6.2% in one year, according to INSEE, the number of beneficiaries continues to increase.

The fight against food insecurity is a collective fight.

While the annual @BanquesAlim collection will begin at the end of the month, I was in Reims this morning with those who are committed and keep this food aid network alive every day.

Thanks to them !
