The number of Palestinian martyrs killed by the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank in the last 24 hours has risen to 5.

Two young resistance fighters were martyred in Jenin camp, one of whom was Farouk Salama, the most prominent commander of Saraya al-Quds (the military arm of Islamic Jihad), in an operation that targeted him, carried out by a special Israeli unit.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said - in a statement - that the outcome of the Israeli aggression on Jenin in the northern West Bank rose to two martyrs and 4 injuries with live bullets.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli army surrounded a house in Jenin refugee camp and an exchange of fire was heard, before announcing its withdrawal.

Today, Thursday, large Israeli military forces stormed the city of Jenin and besieged a shop, according to eyewitnesses who explained that clashes erupted between dozens of Palestinians and the Israeli army, during which live and metal bullets were used.

Martyr in Old Jerusalem

Before that, the occupation forces killed a university student, Amer Badr, in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of stabbing two policemen from the occupation forces.

Palestinian sources said that the occupation forces stormed his family home, and arrested his parents and two of his brothers in the Beit Hanina area of ​​Jerusalem.

The occupation police stated that one of its members was lightly wounded as a result of the stabbing attack, while the other two policemen were lightly wounded by shrapnel from a bullet fired by another policeman at the port.

After the operation, the occupation police closed the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the entrances to the Old City for about two hours, and also sent more of its forces to the site.


Two martyrs from the Ryan family

At dawn on Thursday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of Daoud Rayan, 42, with a bullet to the heart in confrontations with the Israeli occupation army in the town of Beit Duqu, northwest of Jerusalem.

Rayan is the second martyr from the town of Beit Duqo within 24 hours. Habas Abdel Hafeez Youssef Rayan, 54, was martyred yesterday, Wednesday, by Israeli bullets, near a military checkpoint erected at the entrance to the village of Beit Ur, west of Ramallah.

For months, the Israeli army has been carrying out operations in the northern West Bank, concentrated in the cities of Nablus and Jenin, under the pretext of pursuing wanted persons.

More than 100 Palestinians from the West Bank were killed by the occupation forces this year, and the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wencesland, said that this year is expected to be the bloodiest for Palestinians in the West Bank since 2005.
