Some thieves stole last Sunday morning 132 bottles of wine valued at

200,000 euros in the exclusive cellar of the Coque de Madrid restaurant

with two Michelin stars, located on Calle de Marqués de Riscal (Chamberí).

The assailants entered chef Mario Sandoval's premises from a nearby pharmacy that was closed.

The National Police investigates the assault and suspects that it is a robbery by order, since the thieves went for the most expensive wines after having studied for several days how to commit the robbery.

Rafael Sandoval, the restaurant's sommelier and Mario's brother, explained that the assailants first tried to make a hole in the wall of the adjoining premises.

"Unable to do so , they

went down a patio that they share with the pharmacy and broke the glass to enter the cellar

," Rafael Sandoval explained to the Antena 3 Public Mirror program.

The restaurant assures that

some of the bottles of wine are unique in the market

and that behind some of them they took more than 40 years to acquire them.

Sandoval has also alerted colleagues in the sector to take maximum precautions because they suspect that there is a specialized group of thieves in this type of high-value merchandise, as happened in the Atrio de Cáceres restaurant.
