The Municipal Police have carried out several charges in the Central district of Madrid after the

first altercations caused by the Glasgow Celtic hooligans.

The incidents have occurred on a terrace on Carrer de la Victoria and Passage de Matheu where several supporters have caused problems when paying for drinks in various bars.

Municipal Police officers have had to use protective shields and riot gear to try to prevent further incidents.

Some radicals

have thrown glass bottles and other objects at officers who have repeatedly charged

hooligans.

In two of the terraces there have been

broken windows and tables.

In the area there have been several falls of people fleeing from the Municipal Police.

It is unknown at the moment if any arrests have been made as a result of these incidents.

Nearly 10,000 Celtic fans will arrive in the capital between today and tomorrow for

the Champions League match between the Scottish team and Real Madrid.

Some of these followers already caused an incident on Monday afternoon when they were traveling on the AVE from Alicante to Madrid.

The National Police evicted a group of 40 Glasgow Celtic hooligans from the Albacete station who were causing disturbances and bothering the

rest of the passengers and workers.
