Ådahl, who is second vice-chairman, justifies the decision not to stand with the family situation.

- Precisely the role of party leader, it requires that it works fully with the family situation, and we have concluded that it does not, so I have informed the election committee that unfortunately this time I will not stand as a candidate, says Ådahl to SR.

Riksdag members Helena Lindahl and Alireza Akhondi, as well as EU parliamentarian Emma Wiesner have so far announced that they are running for the party leader post.

The party will appoint the next leader at the extraordinary party meeting on February 2 next year.
