Somaya Al Balushi is the first Emirati woman to win a fellowship from the American Academy of Nursing
Dr. Sumaya Al Balooshi was awarded the Fellowship of the American Academy of Nursing, as the first Emirati to win this achievement, according to what the Academy recently announced, adding to the state’s record another qualitative achievement, which translates the efforts of the Emirates Health Services Corporation in strengthening and empowering its cadres in its various health facilities.
This entitlement comes in return for the achievements Al Balushi has achieved in the field of developing the nursing profession, by adopting the latest strategies, programs and best international nursing practices based on research, in addition to her efforts to localize the nursing profession in the country.
Dr. Sumaya Al Balushi, Director of Nursing Department at the Emirates Health Services Corporation, and Chairman of the National Committee for Nursing and Midwifery Affairs, expressed her pride in this qualitative achievement, which confirms the status and capabilities of national competencies, and translates the country’s efforts to support and empower national human cadres in various sectors and various fields, noting that This achievement requires more efforts and work to devote leadership in the health care sector.
Al Balushi added that the nursing profession has gained great importance in the country, and in the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, which places the development and empowerment of specialized national nursing competencies among its top priorities, to provide the highest standards of global health care that keep pace with national standards and projects aimed at highlighting the role of nursing in light of the health crises that afflict them. They occur at the global level, and are consistent with the strategies and objectives of the Foundation, which launched a package of training and educational programs to encourage young men and women to join this profession, whose owners play a pivotal role in the health care system.
The Academic Nursing Fellowship is considered the highest international fellowship in the field of nursing management and practice in the world.
