In the video: Jerry Sohlberg, employee at Rottneros and chairman of Papper's department 89, and CEO Lennart Eberleh about the decision.

High electricity prices and difficulties in getting customers to pay for the cost increases were two of the reasons Rottneros stated when the notice was given in August, when the notice covered 40 employees.

After negotiations, it is now clear that 35 people will be allowed to leave the workplace and the grinding line for the production of pulp for printing paper will be shut down.

Pension solutions

18 employees are being made redundant, while 17 people, aged 60 and over, have been offered and accepted pension solutions.

The announcement of the layoffs came on the same day that Rottneros reported a profit of SEK 270 million after tax for the third quarter of 2022, compared to SEK 71 million in 2021. Net sales in turn rose from SEK 570 to SEK 806 million during the same comparison period.
