At the hearing, his daughter spoke of the decline of the octogenarian because of these serious injuries and his suffering "for seventeen months, day and night".

The victim and her husband were the parents of the ex-companion of the defendant, today under reinforced curatorship.

The latter had gone to their home to collect business after a breakup with her boyfriend.

The victim, however, did not want her to return.

The sixty-year-old then broke tiles with a hammer, injuring her former mother-in-law in the face before burning her.

The respondent explained that she took the tool and the laundry to defend herself if her former companion had been present and attacked her.
