A 48-year-old man was sentenced for death threats and violence with a weapon on Wednesday by the Angers criminal court (Maine-et-Loire).

Three days earlier, he had stabbed one of his neighbors, reports Ouest France.

The case is the culmination of several months of conflict between the two men.

After ever increasing tensions, the defendant first committed several acts of incivility against the victim.

In mid-October, death threats were made.

Thirty months in prison

The victim had alerted the police and the social landlord of the situation.

This Sunday, the forties finally approached his neighbor, who was in his car, and injured him in the hand with a knife.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the attack.

The investigation was first opened for attempted murder before the facts were reclassified as aggravated violence.

The defendant was sentenced to thirty months in prison, including fifteen months.

His continued detention was pronounced by the judge.
