How to obtain a residence visa to work in the UAE?

She explained that the green residence for the purpose of work is a type of residence visa created in 2021, and allows its holder to reside in the country for a period of 5 years without the need for a guarantor, host or sponsor of an employer, and the residence is renewable upon its expiration.



Self-employed, private employers and skilled workers can apply for a Green Residence Visa.



She stated that to obtain a green residence visa, self-employed and private employers must meet the following requirements: Obtaining a self-employment / private work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, The minimum educational level should be a bachelor's degree or specialized diploma or its equivalent, not The annual income of the dog owner from self-employment for the previous two years is less than 360,000 dirhams or its equivalent in foreign currencies, or he proves his financial solvency throughout his stay in the country.



She added that in order to obtain a green residence visa in order to work, the skilled worker must meet the following requirements: to obtain a work permit in the countries under a valid work contract, to be in the category of skilled workers at the first, second or third professional level of the classification of occupations approved by the The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the minimum educational level must be a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, and the monthly salary should not be less than 15,000 dirhams or its equivalent in foreign currencies.

As for the green residency renewal, the digital government indicated that the green residency visa may be renewed for the same period upon its expiry.



As for the normal work visa, the digital government confirmed that a foreigner can obtain a normal work visa in the UAE, usually for a period of two years, if he works in the private sector, or works in the government sector or in a free zone.
