Budapest will not tolerate Berlin's interference in its internal affairs.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated this in an interview with the Budapester Zeitung newspaper.

The politician urged the German authorities to solve only their own problems.

“We are firmly convinced that the problems of Germany should be solved by the Germans.

We will be glad if the Germans also come to understand that the solution of Hungarian problems is primarily the responsibility of the Hungarians living here.

German interference in the internal affairs of Hungary, whether directly or through EU institutions, has now reached enormous proportions,” Orban said.

The politician specified that the pressure that irritates Budapest is exerted by the German left through the European Parliament, imposing ideas on Hungarians about how they "should live and think - about migration, genderism, nation, family, and so on."

According to the Hungarian premier, the pressure exerted by Berlin on Budapest caused "a sharp negative reaction" in Hungary.

Inside Germany, according to Orban, “liberal hegemony prevails” and the principle of pluralism is crossed out.

He called "a great misfortune for Europe" the departure of Angela Merkel from the post of Chancellor of Germany at the time of the aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis.

According to experts interviewed by RT, Germany is trying to force Budapest to follow the current "pan-European course":

renunciation of Russian energy resources, support for the Kyiv regime, the maximum reduction of cooperation with Russia.

“Germany is one of the conductors of pressure that Brussels is exerting on countries trying to maintain economic sovereignty and not get involved in anti-Russian politics.

Actually, for this, Hungary is subjected to pressure, which will only increase.

Due to its intransigence within the EU, the country has actually turned into a dissident, ”explained Alexander Kamkin, senior researcher at IMEMO RAS, in an interview with RT.

"Heavy Burden"

As experts say, by interfering in Hungarian politics, Germany itself suffers greatly from the measures taken against the Russian Federation.

According to the forecasts of the German media and analysts, the country will survive the coming winter with great difficulty.

According to a recent study conducted by the SINUS Institute and the Institute for German Economics, many German citizens are afraid of a harsh winter.

The scientists concluded that the consequences of the gas deficit for the German economy and society are "difficult to assess."

Some German statesmen admit that Germany's economic problems could provoke political destabilization.

For example, this point of view was expressed in a recent interview with Bild am Sonntag by the Prime Minister of Bavaria and chairman of the Christian Social Union, Markus Söder.

According to Kamkin, the FRG, like other European states, suffers from exorbitant energy prices, but "continues a course that is suicidal for the economy."

“This is the “merit” of the leftist and environmental populists who run the country and pretend that nothing terrible is happening.

Orban gives sober assessments of the current situation, it is difficult to disagree with them, ”Kamkin emphasized.

Currently, Budapest is extremely dissatisfied with the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions, which caused a new round of the energy crisis and record inflation.

Orban believes that they were introduced "only on a moral and emotional basis" and made no rational sense.

On October 23, in a speech in the city of Zalaegerszeg on the occasion of the anniversary of the anti-Soviet uprising of 1956, the Hungarian prime minister said that, by accepting restrictions against the Russian Federation, Brussels was stealthily “shooting” at Hungary.

By pursuing such a policy, according to Orban, the EU risks disintegrating, as well as the social bloc controlled by the USSR.

“The war is at our door, the financial crisis and economic recession in the EU, the migratory invasion in the south… we are facing a lot of problems,” Orban stated.

Also, from the point of view of the Hungarian prime minister, the EU is facing serious problems due to the lack of a unified defense policy and a sovereign political course.

Orban is one of the few Western statesmen who almost openly says that the EU is subordinate to Washington's interests.

“Currently, the EU is uncritically adopting the position of the US one-on-one.

American interests are simply masquerading as European ones.

It is pretending that European interests are identical to American ones,” the Hungarian prime minister said in an interview with the Budapester Zeitung.

Along with this, Budapest is dissatisfied with the format of support for the Kyiv regime, which Europe has chosen.

In an interview with the Budapester Zeitung, Orban said that the EU was not supposed to supply weapons and train the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Hungarian prime minister, "Europe supports Ukraine in such a way that our continent is drawn into an escalation spiral."

According to Orban, Hungary itself is in close proximity to the theater of operations.

The politician noted that ethnic Hungarians living in Ukraine, who are being drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were involved in the armed conflict.

According to Orban, 200 people became victims of battles with the Russian army.

Meanwhile, Europe is ready to undertake new forms of support for the Kyiv regime.

In addition to continuing the supply of weapons and financing of the Ukrainian state, they do not exclude the scenario of Ukraine's accession to the EU.

In particular, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke about this prospect several times in October.

In a RT commentary, Vadim Kozyulin, head of the Center for Global Studies and International Relations of the IAMP Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that the current EU foreign policy, including in the Ukrainian direction, is almost completely contrary to the interests of Hungary.

“Hungary actually asks the question: is supporting Ukraine worth the losses that Europe suffers?

There is no reasonable answer to it in Brussels and Berlin.

I think that the EU could well even impose sanctions against Budapest, although this would be counterproductive and simply absurd,” Kozyulin stressed.

"Energy ration"

Another European country that is subject to interference in internal affairs by EU member states is Serbia.

In Belgrade, as in Budapest, they constantly talk about the unwillingness to be drawn into the conflict between East and West and the irrationality of anti-Russian sanctions.

Both countries depend on Russian gas supplies and are trying to coordinate their energy policy - last year a gas pipeline was built on the territory of Serbia, connecting the Turkish Stream and the Hungarian gas transportation system.

According to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the sanctions against the Russian Federation caused huge economic problems throughout the Old World.

According to his forecast, the exchange price for gas in the coming winter may reach $6,000 per 1,000 cubic meters.

m. The shortage of energy resources will force European countries to cut off electricity.

Vucic admits that only timely purchases of Russian hydrocarbons saved the country from an energy collapse.

In the West, they do not hide their discontent over Serbia's refusal to join the anti-Russian restrictions and its desire to remain neutral in the Ukrainian crisis.

Thus, in early October, the head of the permanent EU delegation to Serbia, Emmanuel Jofre, called on Belgrade to coordinate the sanctions policy against Russia with Brussels.

Belgrade insists on the lack of alternatives to Russian supplies and perceived the new, eighth package of sanctions against Moscow as restrictive measures against itself.

President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen is expected to pay an official visit to Belgrade on October 28.

According to experts, the guest from Brussels will once again try to persuade Serbia to "correct" its policy in accordance with the common European course.

According to Alexander Kamkin, Serbia, like Hungary, depends on gas supplies via the Turkish Stream.

In this regard, agreement with the "Brussels Diktat" will mean for these countries a "starved energy ration".

“In the current geopolitical circumstances, the Serbian leadership is forced to maneuver.

But, as it seems to me, as in the case of Hungary, a concession to the Brussels dictatorship is impossible, as it will lead to a very severe economic crisis, ”Kamkin argues.

A similar point of view is shared by Vadim Kozyulin.

According to the expert, today Serbia and Hungary are the only European countries that are trying to resist the pressure of Brussels.

At the same time, the interlocutor of RT admits that the number of such states may increase due to growing economic problems.

“The energy crisis in Europe will only get worse.

As social tensions grow, not all European governments will agree to bury their interests in favor of "pan-European attitudes."

In my opinion, serious changes can occur in the policy of the poorest EU countries, in particular in Bulgaria and Romania," Kozyulin summed up.
