A man from a Japan-China exchange group who returned to Japan this month after being sentenced to six years in prison in a private trial for being detained in Beijing, China and being involved in spying activities, told NHK, "The judgment is very I am dissatisfied," he said.

In addition, this man revealed that he had interacted with a Japanese man who was also sentenced to prison and was in prison in Beijing, saying, "When will we be able to get out?" .

The person who responded to the interview was Mr. Eiji Suzuki, a member of the Japan-China Youth Exchange Association, a private Japan-China exchange group. After being sentenced to 6 years, he was released from prison on the 11th of this month and returned to Japan.

Mr. Suzuki complained, "I have no motive for spying, and I don't think there is any reality. I am very dissatisfied with the arrest and the judgment."

In addition, Mr. Suzuki revealed that he interacted with a man who was detained in Beijing in 2015 for spying and was sentenced to 12 years in prison in Beijing.

Regarding the man, Mr. Suzuki said, ``He was a person well-versed in history, so he told me that story.'' ``About a week after the high court's ruling, he was transferred from the detention center to the second prison. Sometimes we went together," said the two of them about how they were transferred to prison.

Also, in prison, "He was on the 3rd floor and I was on the 2nd floor, so it wasn't easy to see him, but sometimes he would exercise outside, so we would meet at that time and chat a little. It was the center of the story that I would be able to do it."

The man, in his 70s, fell ill while in prison and died in February this year.

According to Suzuki, the man used to live in Hokkaido, saying, "He liked China and often visited China. He always said he wanted to make efforts to link the economies of China and Hokkaido." "I looked back and said, "I'm sorry," and revealed the inside of my heart.
