At around 11:10 local time last night, a Korean Air passenger plane departing from Incheon and arriving at Mactan Airport in Cebu, Philippines deviated from the runway during landing.



It was raining heavily in Cebu at the time of landing.

The plane made two landing attempts, but failed and managed to land on the third attempt, but it crossed the runway and stopped.

There were 162 passengers and 11 crew members on the plane, Korean Air said that there were no casualties.



As the landing at Cebu Airport was suspended after the accident, other flights scheduled to arrive later were reported to have diverted to nearby Manila Airport.



Korean Air has issued an apology in the name of President Woo Ki-hong and plans to dispatch about 40 employees in related fields via alternative flights.



Two inspectors from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and three investigators from the Accident Investigation Committee will also go to Cebu Airport to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
