It is the excitement in the city of Bandundu among the displaced people from the territory of Kwamouth who fled the

inter-ethnic violence between Yaka and Teke

.

A delegation from the central government has been sent to the capital of

Kwilu province

to provide assistance to more than 2,500 people who have taken refuge in the Malebo market.

But the displaced feel mistreated.

On Saturday, they took to the streets to show their discontent.

They accuse members of the government delegation of mismanaging the distribution of humanitarian aid.

They received 200,000 Congolese francs (about 100 euros) for travel and reintegration costs "

while not everyone has the same family composition, nor the same distance to travel

", explains Placide Mukwa from local civil society.

And for him, it is not appropriate to close the reception site of the Malebo market, as announced by the Minister of Social and Humanitarian Affairs.

A “

premature and unwelcome

” decision, he said.

According to him, "

it is impossible to return to Kwamouth because no solution to the crisis has been found and the attackers are still in the wild

".
