Communiqué of the First Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

(Adopted at the first plenary meeting of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on October 23, 2022)

　　The first plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will be held in Beijing on October 23, 2022.

　　There were 203 members of the Central Committee and 168 alternate members of the Central Committee attended the plenary session.

Members of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection attended the meeting.

　　Comrade Xi Jinping presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech after being elected general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

　　The plenary session elected members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and General Secretary of the Central Committee; according to the nomination of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, the members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee were approved, and the composition of the Central Military Commission was determined; Candidates for secretary, deputy secretary and members of the Standing Committee elected at the first plenary meeting of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission.
