“In the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to break through the defense of the Russian troops in the direction of the settlements of Novaya Kamenka - Chervony Yar in the Kherson region, using up to three battalions on a narrow front, including one tank battalion.
In the area of the settlement of Sukhanovo, Kherson region, the enemy managed to penetrate the defense of Russian units, ”the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that "the enemy suffered a significant defeat, as a result of which the Ukrainian units fled in disorder."
“The situation along the front line of defense has been fully restored,” the Russian Defense Ministry emphasized.
Earlier, the deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, said that Ukrainian troops tried to break through in the Kherson direction four times over the past day.
On October 19, Stremousov said that Russian troops had repulsed all attempts by Ukrainian militants to advance in the region.
