• UK Tory MPs give Liz Truss an ultimatum amid chaos

The 'premier' Liz Truss has announced her resignation less than 45 days after her arrival at Downing Street due to pressure from her own party.

Truss will go down in history as the shortest "premier" in the history of the United Kingdom and as the fourth Conservative leader to fall in six years, after the successive resignations of David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson since 2016 and after the vote in favor of Brexit.

The announcement came after Truss's meeting with Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 parliamentary committee, who conveyed to him the general sentiment of the "Tory" deputies after the fiasco of his budget and the resignations as Secretary of the Treasury Kwasin Kwarteng and of the Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
