The weather Thursday will be marked by locally heavy thunderstorms over the northern two-thirds of the country, according to Météo France.

Weaker showers will overflow towards the Alps and Provence in the afternoon.

From the Gulf of Lion to the Massif Central and Rhône-Alpes, the southerly wind will also become quite strong, reaching 60 to 80 km/h in gusts.

Locally stormy showers will circulate over the rest of the country.

In the morning, they will mainly concern a large northwest quarter, from the north of New Aquitaine and Auvergne to the Channel and the Belgian border.

The Côte d'Azur will keep a calmer, dry but cloudy weather.

Corsica will benefit from a brilliant sun.

Quieter weather in the afternoon

In the afternoon, calmer weather with some good clearings will recover from Brittany and the Pays de la Loire to Normandy.

On the other hand, stormy showers will still cross the north of New Aquitaine, the north of Auvergne, the Center and will extend to Burgundy-Franche-Comté and the Grand Est.

Stormy activity will be strong locally with a risk of hail and strong gusts, especially in the afternoon in Limousin, Berry and Burgundy.
