The four parties together have 34 out of 71 mandates.

In the 2022 election, the Center and the Liberals lost one mandate each from the previous election results, which means that the Alliance lost its majority at the same time.

SVT Nyheter Halland has been in contact with the Social Democrats.

- We have extended a hand to them, both before and after the election.

But they have wanted to rule in a minority.

I think it's unfortunate considering how many ways you could get to a majority.

I am convinced that it would have been better to govern with that, says Lise-Lotte Bensköld Olsson (S).

Must get something in return

Nor does it appear that there will be any support from the Sweden Democrats.

Stina Isaksson (SD), who tops the party's regional list, says that the negotiations that have been held have led nowhere.

- It's boring.

We have said that we will be required to release their budget.

If we are going to support them, we have to get something in return, she says.

She adds that the Alliance said before the election that they could consider cooperating with SD.
