With sirens and blue lights, the police try to get the then 15-year-old boy to stop.

But instead he tries to prevent the police from overtaking.

The speedometer shows that the journey goes for over 100 kilometers per hour before it ends in the ditch for the A-tractor.

The incident took place in October last year in Skövde municipality and ended without injuries.

The technical examination of the A tractor showed that it was manipulated to be able to drive significantly faster than the permitted 30 kilometers per hour.

The young driver admitted the crimes and received his sentence in March this year.

He was convicted of illegal driving and negligence in traffic, the punishment was a daily fine.

Mapping: Majority trimmed

SVT Nyheter has previously published a survey of sentences from the past year where underage drivers of A-tractors have been sentenced for traffic-dangerous offences.

In the majority of the 45 cases, the vehicles had been tuned to be able to drive faster than allowed.

The police have carried out targeted checks against A-tractors at several locations in recent weeks.

Among other things at Lidingö in Stockholm, where the result was nine revoked driving licenses for A-tractors.

- In all cases, the A-tractor had been altered without permission so that it was assessed as a passenger car, says Anders Wetterström, traffic officer at the Norrmalm police in Stockholm.

Parents have responsibility

He urges parents to keep an eye on the vehicles in which they let their youngsters go. Anyone who is the owner of an A-tractor who does not follow the rules can be convicted of allowing illegal driving.

- Often it is parents or relatives who own these vehicles and there is a responsibility there.

Many have not fulfilled their duty to investigate, says Anders Wetterström.

The number of A-tractors has increased sharply in recent years - and so have the accidents.

In the last month alone, four young people have died after two serious accidents involving A tractors.

The accidents, which occurred outside Grästorp and Grebbestad respectively, are still being investigated and it is not clear what the reason behind the accidents is.
