The National Police have arrested a 23-year-old man of Moroccan nationality in Moncloa who has hijacked an intercity bus with some 20 passengers between the Madrid municipalities of Villalba and Majadahonda

at 1:00 p.m.

The arrested man has beaten the driver and, under threats, has forced him to drive on the A-6 to the Moncloa transport interchange.

Upon reaching the end, the young man ran off the bus and

was arrested by agents from the Moncloa police station when he was escaping through the Parque del Oeste.

The doctors of the Samur and the Summa have treated the driver for a possible injury at the Moncloa interchange and have also treated

seven of the passengers for anxiety crises,

as confirmed by a spokesperson for Emergencies Madrid.

The first version of the facts was that the detainee tried to rob the driver.

The agents suspect that the young man suffers from some kind of disorder.

The events occurred around 1:15 p.m. today, Wednesday.

The traveler has entered the bus in Villalba.

A few minutes into the journey, he has addressed the driver, hit him in the chest and tried to steal the profits from the bus, according to the first data.

The young man has forced him to deviate from his route to Majadahonda and has told him to drive on the A-6 to Moncloa.

Throughout the journey, the man has kept the driver threatened, but

he has not attacked any of the bus passengers.

Several of the travelers have notified the Police through messages, which has made it easier for the agents to spread out in the Moncloa area waiting for the bus.
